I have a tiny kitchenette with very little workspace, never mind storage. This device fills the role of sauce/pasta pan( individual portions), steamer & mini-frying pan very nicely. I also like that the main body fits into the colander for storage. Clear lid w/ steam release hole is helpful. There are two temp levels on power button, set by clicking left or right;. Power button is reassuringly stiff; no chance of turning it on/off by accident. I use high for boiling water & , so far, have used lower setting to lightly toast garlic bread; just enough room for a slice to lay flat. Heating isn’t uniform for toasting- bread browns in the middle more readily but there’s heat to the edges. The non-stick coating hasn’t really been challenged yet with my usage but seems ok. Build quality is a concern- the body is plastic, inc the handle which is two pieces molded together; not sure how durable it will be or whether water may get inside the iffy joint in the molding , how well it will handle the strain of a full pot of soup, etc. Wish it had a pair of metal handles on body like the colander/steamer does. Cord is well insulated & sits firmly in body, 31″ long from base of plug at each end. There is a little orange on/off indicator light & I’ve heard a click now & again which suggests there is heat regulation of some sort going on for safety. I don’t think there’s an automatic cut-off, though, so it needs watching when in use. Colander/steamer, lid, and body fit together well enough to keep steam from escaping but aren’t seated together deeply enough to be really stable, so take care not to knock it around or you could get a steam blasted finger or wrist. Bottom gets warm so a trivet or heat-resistant pad is wise. No sign that it’s getting dangerously hot, though; silicone pad barely warm to the touch after several minutes of fierce veggie steaming. Instructions didn’t come in English so I learned to use it by common sense/deduction

I have a toddler… and… my stove broke down… and my sink broke down. It’s a nightmare. So, I’m desperate when I find this thing.I can cook fast in it, using bits & pieces frozen from the fridge (think ice cubes trays of leftover sauce). And then after, when I don’t have time to clean up- no big deal. The next day i spray with vinegar water bottle. Wipe. Spray again, wipe again & it’s clean. Very convenient compared to washing caked on pots/pans in the bathtub. It’s seriously awesome. Downfalls? You must babysit the pot, seriously. But hey- it’s fast. And if other then soup/water you must stir a bit as it doesn’t heat evenly. And there’s 2 settings… high…. and higher ( i’ve turned it on & off to cook ground cow). It’s not perfect- But, if you want something like this and can’t afford to bathe in money… this thing should do you well.Oh and that ground cow was more delicious then when I was using the instant pot saute feature. Plus easy to strain pasta/grease with the steamer part.End result: wonderful, for 8 months.

This is my ABSOLUTE favorite appliance. I use it multiple times a day for heating everything. Got to watch it though. It heats fast and hot, stir frequently. Food heats very quickly. Cleans up with a rinse and a wipe. Months later not a scratch on nonstick surface, although I am very careful with not using metal to stir. Wish it had more heat options as it kinda boils over a bit when I make rice. But that’s ok, I just watch it and remove lid for a second now and then to let it cool a bit. Then put it back on part way and the rice still cooks nicely. I wish I had gotten one of these before. I practice low wattage sustainable living and with no kitchen I will continue to own one of these low wattage cooking pots for the rest of my life. And intend to use it for future off grid and vanlife living! Highly recommended! Keeps my electric bill nice and low. Even if I had a stove in my studio apt in would use this instead to save on my lower electric footprint. Perfect for tiny and dorm living. YOU GOTTA GET ONE OF THESE! Yes it is cheap and mostly plastic but if you treat it right it will treat you right.6 month update. So I had loved this wonderful hot pot for the last 6 months. No complaints in any way. Easy to clean is my favorite thing. But one day the button just stopped working on the high setting. It still worked on the low setting but it doesn’t seem to get as hot as quickly. Now I could be at fault. I left it on and fell asleep. so I may have burned it out. I mean the pot was still working but the switch seems to have broken. so now I have to buy a new one. I would recommend protection plan on these types of appliances if they are offered.

Much smaller than expected. Very fast to heat up. Lightweight and super easy to clean. It will shut off on high. Took minutes to boil rice noodles but an hour to steam the same amount, running dry once.

The person I bought this for never uses it. They said it takes too long to heat up, even a small cup of water. I personally would like to try it myself but I can’t.
