First the good: it gets hot and doesn’t overload my mini generator. Yes, you can boil water, make coffee, etc. So it fits that basic requirement.The bad: it runs in on and off cycles, so there’s no way to throttle the load or fine tune the output to simmer on low. I guess if you were using something like cast iron, you could let the thermal mass regulate the low setting into something useful for that, but it’s pretty much sized for backpacking cookware or a French press coffee maker. That being said, it does free up a burner to make coffee in the morning while cooking breakfast on the 2 burner stove or the electric skillet, so it’s not totally useless. Just not perfect.The ugly: mine had some cosmetic damage consistent with having landed on its side and having a lift gate or palette dropped on it. Still works and I got a partial refund for the damage, but it happened, so it’s in my review.

I bought this little burner specifically to make coffee in my Bialetti Venus four cup Moka pot in my workshop.Moka fits well.It makes a fine espresso, no issues.Heats-up quick.Temperature control works well.It is reminiscent of the electric micro-Bunsen burners I have used in laboratories- just less expensive.Base seems to be nylon.Steel collar. Not sure if it is stainless. Magnetic, so probably not, but could be- we will see if it corrodes.Some kind of cast metal/cermet conductor plate.Cycles ‘on and ‘off’ to maintain plate temperature.Draws five amps during ‘on’ cycle on 110 volt, 60 Hz AC power (USA).Uses 590 to 593 Watts during ‘on’ cycle.Package was beat-up when I received it. I was surprised it was in one piece and complete.Also, whatever anti-corrosion product in which it was treated with makes an aweful odor when heated. Hopefull that will burn-off as I use it. Usually it does with things like this. Not a big deal in a shop; might be a big deal in your house.Your boss won’t like it. I wouldn’t take this to work to cook Ramen noodles in the office at lunch.Instruction manual and packaging was entertaining, but the Amazon description had more useful information in it than the manual.Meets my expectations.

The box of the item was torn apart inside Amazon envelope. Really bad packaging.Like other comments, It does have a bad burning smell when started. Recommend to start outside if possible. After 5 or 6 times of boiling water, the smell subsided.

This little stove does just what it should.The temperature control could be better, it turns on/off to control the temperature.Cranking it up to full shows a “hotspot” to one side (red hot).

This was quick and does exactly what it was supposed to do. It was quick. Even heat distribution, and small enough to pack in my purse. The first time use the burners ceramic coating burned off and it was a bit stinky just for like 2 minutes. But after the smell was gone. Box also came destroyed but the burner is in great condition and I recommend it.
