The technology works — almost too well. But the cup is poorly designed. They put appearance over function. In order to make it look as if it holds more than it does, they made it a tall, narrow cone. When the liquid goes in, it instantly begins to form a very solid layer in the bottom and on the sides. The little plastic scraper isn’t even close to sturdy enough to scrape it off. A butter knife works a bit better. There’s no way to scrape it from the sides quickly enough to prevent the build up. It requires constant, forceful scraping, and the narrow cone shape means you can’t scrape the bottom. Worse — every scrape results in the liquid splashing upward out of the glass like a geyser. It holds 7 ounces, but a good deal of it is wasted because it freezes so thickly that there’s no getting it out, not to mention the amount hat ends up on the counter and on your shirt. I end up with about 3 ounces of drinkable slush. It’s a little better if you add the liquid in small amounts, so that the incoming warm liquid helps to keep it from forming a thick layer so quickly. Now, having said that this cup is poorly designed, I would like to try their ice cream bowl, because the technology works well, and the bowl shape might prevent some of the issues. Since making slush in the cup is impractical, I tried putting yogurt in it, and this worked much better than the liquid. Still rather impractical since it’s difficult to scrape it from the bottom of the tall, narrow glass without having yogurt-covered fingers, but the yogurt is too thick to splash and make a mess. It would have made a passable frozen yogurt if I hadn’t given up with it half frozen because of the annoyances caused by the cone-shaped cup. So… definitely don’t waste your money on this cup, but don’t discount the brand entirely. The technology works and the product is solidly constructed. if their product engineers stop putting form over function, they are going to put out some good products.Update: I have since made it work very successfully in 2 ways. 1. put very warm coffee in it at the start, and added more warm coffee periodically. 2. Put fruit juice in it when it had not been in the freezer for the recommended length of time. So it basically gets too cold to function and needs to either not be frozen all the way or you need to use warm liquid to prevent it freezing too fast. For this reason I have upgraded to 4 stars.

I have always loved slushies, so when I saw this cup I had to try it. Oh my gosh, I love this! It works amazingly well. Not sure if other reviewers arenโt reading the directions, but I find it works perfectly. You absolutely have to freeze the inner cup (standing upright) for about 24 hours. So, I get one slushie a day with one cup. I pour cold liquid into the cup, wait 30 seconds and scrape, wait another 30 seconds and scrape. Keep doing this for about 5 minutes or so, and you have the perfect slushie. The trick is to learn how to scrape the cup so the contents stay in the cup. Once it starts to freeze well, I scrape downwards and in a swirl direction. If you scrape from the bottom to the top then your frozen contents will come up in one piece. Scrape down and around. I love to make frozen coffee, but my recent favorite is grapefruit juice with a splash of tart cherry concentrate. So good!

The cup is the perfect size but when adding liquids it seems it freezes too fast and scrapping the sides does not always give you the consistency you want and can be a bit messy. Hand cleaning is simple and the cup does freeze fast.

I had to try a few different things to make it work best for me – and each different type of liquid will act a bit differently. I like a milkshake texture; the instructions only mention to scrape the sides every minute, but the bottom will freeze solid if you don’t stir that. So – Stir up from the base of the liquid, and scrape the sides every minute or so. Once the consistency is right, to keep it from freezing too hard I often pour the contents into a different cup to enjoy; if it gets a bit runny, I can always pour is back into the freezing cup. This way I can take my time to enjoy my shakes.

Probably wouldnโt buy again not worth the money. Not to impressed, got this to freeze my juice for little treat. It really didnโt work that great, I mean too much work to scrape ice off sides and didnโt make that much ice to scrap. Thought it would be more slushy consistency but it frozen around side and not so much in center so just didnโt work for me

Got one of these for a surprise for my daughter we both loved it so much. I ended up buying one for myself. We have a icy night at least once a week we have had these for over a year and they still work great. If youโre an icy lover like we are, you will definitely enjoy this.

This is our favorite cup! My daughter and I have slushy once a week at least! The cup works great but only with sugar beverages! I only wish that the cup was even a bit so that it could hold a 16-20 oz drink.

This thing actually works extremely well. We have someone in our family that loves to stop and get a slurpee at 7-11. This device makes them just as well as one you can buy at the convenience store. Fantastic!
